Windows XP on Mac

I'm not sure how you would react to the picture above. Whoever owns this Mac should give it to someone else. Though it is possible to install Windows on a Mac computer, why would someone do that. Having an Apple computer is already great. Why destroy that. I know some really prefers Windows operating system over that of Apple but should you not be getting another brand of computer instead of putting that on a Mac. Having a Mac OS is really more stable for me. But anyways, this really caught my attention so I'm posting.

These are really cool wireless keyboard and mouse from Asus for its Eee Box. The aesthetics really looks good. Though this is somewhat similar to what Apple has, it differs with the glossy look, really stylish for a wireless keyboard and mouse.

I cannot get hold of further details though but I'm assuming the devices are using the RF technology. Not sure if this is compatible with other computers as well aside from that of Asus Eee line.

Sony Ericsson C905

Posted by JCO | 12/26/2008 05:22:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot C905 is the newest in Sony's line of mobile phone. It is Sony's best cameraphone yet. At eight-megapixel, Sony Ericsson C905 is the latest to join the ranks of eight-megapixel mobile phones.

The C905 sliderphone is not a touchscreen handset and it also doesn't have smartphone functionality unlike other eight-megapixel mobile phones like LG Renoir, Samsung i8510 and Samsung Pixon. Compensating for its lack of other functionality, Sony Ericsson C905 stood up to its name of being a Cyber-shot phone. The C905 is a 3G phone which is HSDPA-enabled.

Again, unlike other eight-megapixel mobile phones, Sony Ericsson C905 is not a slim model. Its a bit chunky at 104 x 49 x 18-19.5mm and weighing a pocket-sagging 136g. The good side of it is, the weight and "chunkiness" makes your hand more stable during picture taking. It also have ample display of 2.4in, 240 x 320, 262,144-colour LCD.

Expect to pay more than £400 for this gadget.

iPhone Nano, Next Generation iPhone

Posted by JCO | 12/24/2008 05:30:00 PM | | 0 comments »

First, Apple had iPod Shuffle. Then out came the iPod, the iPhone, iPod Nano and iPhone 3G. And now if you had been to several Apple News Sites, you'll surely hear the deafening rumors of an iPhone Nano. Will this be the next generation iPhone? Well, Apple is still using the same tactic of keeping the public hanging on for the announcement of its new product.

It has been a while since rumors had circulated that the iPhone will be have a smaller sibling - an iPhone Nano? This was fueled more by some case manufacturers, like XSKN, by creating an iPhone Nano case section on its web site. The casings are of the same thickness as an iPhone but it is definitely shorter.

Whether there will be an iPhone Nano or not is still a mystery. But why on earth will iPhone case manufacturers make something that will not be used in the future? Well, iPhone Nano, I'll wait for you.

Glitch in Updating Leopard

Posted by JCO | 12/23/2008 07:24:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

A glitch in Mac OS X Leopard machines are preventing some users to automatically update using the built-in software update mechanism.

This was already confirmed by Apple. A note posted by a tech in Apple's Support site says that during the "Configuring installation" in the update process, the machine might stop responding. The problem occurs when a partially downloaded update is installed by the software update.

As a work around, Apple suggest these:
1. go to /Library/Updates
2. move the contents of that folder to the trash
3. re-download and install the update

If you're still having problems with the automatic update, then do it manually.

Mac had been considered as the most secure platforms for the past few years. But as more and more consumers are using Mac, it is becoming popular to those who have a motive - a hacker.

Symantec had seen this already that is why they already have the Norton Internet Security for Mac which features a variety of security tools in just one application. It includes the traditional virus protection software, a Firewall and other tools to protect the user against spyware and other identity theft software.

The Norton Internet Security for Mac is linked to Symantec's DeepSight Threat Management System which updates the firewall rules at least once a day to make sure that the user is protected from the latest attacking IP addresses. Symantec also claimed that the application will protect the user against phishing Web sites, keyloggers and other types of applications that are intended to steal or gather personal information.

Norton Internet Security for Mac can be purchased at $79.99.

Microsoft is releasing an emergency security fix for its browser Internet Explorer that has exposed millions of its users to hackers. The security hole dubbed "zero-day" vulnerability allows hackers to take over a victim's computer. This was done simply my directing the unsuspecting user to an infected web site. The users don't have to download anything to get infected, they simply visit the site and the programming code will be at work. This makes it dangerous because everybody can be a victim by simply going to an infected web site.

The flaw in Internet Explorer browser makes a user's computer vulnerable to hijacking by hackers. According to Trend Micro Inc. there are almost 10,000 compromised web sites.

The security update, rated as "critical", was planned to be released Wednesday.

I'm getting paid to blog

Posted by JCO | 12/18/2008 05:59:00 PM | 0 comments »

I've been trying to earn online for some time now. I tried different get-paid-to programs before but to no avail. I did earn some cash but it cannot be considered as income. It is just a few bucks here and there. But finally I was able to earn a considerable amount by getting paid to blog. I guess with the technology that we have, the way of earning money is also evolving in relation to the development of technology.

Getting paid to blog is not really hard. I can consider starting a blog as the most difficult part. But once you have a blog, you can utilize it to generate income by being paid for what you are writing in it. The best part is, if you are writing about the things that you like, you don't even mind writing about it for free so how much more if you will be paid for it.

To start with, you have to look for a site that offers this type of service. Look for someone who is trusted and reliable. A site that a lot of users are already using would be great. You can do a search on getting paid to blog in any search engine and a lot of sites will come out. If you'll ask me, do check out http://www.payingpost.com and see the offers that they have.

Blog advertising network

The site does offer a very competitive pricing for creating an opportunity. They are offering as much as 50% less compared to competitors. This is one opportunity that Bloggers can take and earn while writing.

It might seem ridiculous if you'll insert your rechargeable battery in your toaster right. But the toaster I'm talking about is not your ordinary bread burner. It is actually a charger that was designed to look like a bread toaster. It is even aptly named as Toasty Charger.

The gadget or toaster was designed to charge lithium-ion batteries of various sizes. Treat your battery as the bread in order to charge it. Insert the battery inside the slot where the bread goes in a normal toaster and pull the handle down and wait till the bread, err, battery pops out. That means it is fully charged.
The design though is obviously Apple inspired. The gadget which is all white shows a chef's hat on the front side which glows white if the battery is still charging and no lights means it is not charged yet. Take it out once the light turns yellow though else smoke might start coming out.

Antivirus for Mac

Posted by JCO | 12/16/2008 03:22:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

Before, Apple's pride was not having any antivirus software in its computers. It has been that way for years since they claimed that Apple computers are hack-free. But the tide has changed. Starting this month Apple is recommending to use antivirus tools to protect Mac systems from attacks. Qouting Apple, "Apple encourages the widespread use of multiple anti-virus utilities so that virus programmers have more than one application to circumvent, thus making the whole virus writing process more difficult."

With the continuous evolution of the world wide web, more and more hackers are utilizing the web for attacks and applications are being created to infect PCs irregardless of the operating system that is being used.

Intego VirusBarrier, McAfee VirusScan for Mac and Symantec Norton Anti-Virus 11 for Macintosh are some possible security options that Apple is suggesting.

Affordable Antivirus Software

Posted by JCO | 12/15/2008 07:51:00 PM | | 0 comments »

Getting connected to the internet gives us a lot of benefits. You can do your study, shopping and even socialization online. As with all places, some people will always take advantage of those who are not protected. With the internet convenience, you are also susceptible to attacks from viruses, hackers, malwares, spywares or even Trojans. I know all of us want to be protected especially from these attackers which are all but visible to us. Unless protected, we will always be prone to this attack. Getting a protection software or antivirus software is a must if you are connected to the internet. Though there is always a chance of being infected by a virus, at least keep it at the minimum level.

Getting protected with an antivirus software, especially quality ones, might seem expensive. Why, because many companies spend too much on marketing and support. I'm not saying that this is wrong. It’s just that there is a way how to get cheap but quality antivirus software. There are a lot of sites in the internet offering antivirus software. But so far I've never seen one being offered as cheap as what cheapvirus.com is offering.

When we talk of cheap products we usually associate it with poor quality. But it does not necessarily mean that this is always true. The cheapvirus.com website is offering products that are already known in the industry and is trusted by a lot of individuals and companies. I'm sure you have heard of Symantec, McAfee, Panda, Trend Micro, Grisoft, and Kaspersky. These are big names in the antivirus software industry. And these are the same names that you can see on the site. Yes they are offering these products at a very affordable rate. Believe me you can already purchase an antivirus software for $10. Yes, it is that cheap. And it is of high quality too.

Interceptor Software from Nokia

Posted by JCO | 12/14/2008 06:59:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

Worrying that your partner is cheating on you? Or do you want to check who your kids are contacting? Then you might as well install a mobile spy application, Interceptor Software, from Nokia. Consider this as wire tapping for mobile phones. Not sure if this is legal though.

The Interceptor Software is like a mole installed on a mobile phone. Once it is installed on a mobile phone, it can send you back a copy of every SMS that was sent or received from that phone. It will also send you an SMS of all phone numbers that was dialed and a copy of all numbers that called the handset. And if you think that is all, you are wrong. If you set-up a predefined third-party number, you can listen to the conversation real-time. Now that is what I call spying. GPS tracking is not supported by the Interceptor Software but you can change any of its settings by sending a text message.

As with most spying devices, expect to pay a hefty price of $2489 for the Interceptor Software. Several Nokia models, including the N95, can be bought with the software pre-installed.

I'm not sure if you have heard of the The Bible Experience, the Award-Winning Celebrity Audio Bible - 2007 Audies Audiobook of the Year for the New Testament edition, but in case you haven't you can Google it or read thru. The Bible experience was described in Wikipedia as "The most ambitious, critically-acclaimed presentation of the Bible ever produced". The Bible Experience is an audio product which is deemed unique and breaks new ground in Bible presentation due to the fact that it was presented by a star-studded cast of almost 400 performers. This includes award-winning actors, musicians, clergy, directors, and producers. It even features an original musical underscore by the Prague Symphony Orchestra.

One of the performers is Nick Cannon as Adam in The Bible Experience. Nick Cannon is a rapper and also has several television and film work. I'm not sure if you have heard some of his raps but I do like his rapping and beatboxing the children's song "Old McDonald".

You can download for free a clip of Nick Cannon as Adam in the The Bible Experience website. Use the exclusive download code GEN3SPRK to start downloading and experience what you might have not experienced at all, experience a bit of The Bible Experience.

Mobile phones are making drivers accident prone. Or it is not the mobile itself but the drivers attitude and self control not to text or talk on the phone while driving. Road signs and other different ads media are being ignored by majority of the drivers. Thank you to technology for making our roads more unsafe at some point.

But thank you to Key2SafeDriving a car key that has been developed to render the user’s phone useless when the motor's running. It uses Bluetooth technology to block the driver’s phone from being able to make and receive calls or send text messages when inserted in the ignition. No specific details though on how exactly the technology works or what mobile phones it will work on. What is known though is it has two modes: Adult and teen. Adult mode allows calls to be made and received if a hands-free kit is in use. Teen mode has total restrictions.

Here's the latest in streaming technology and iPod. Audioengine recently launched an iPod-friendly wireless music streaming kit dubbed as W2. Audioengine's W2 hooks up dockable iPods direct to its wireless music streaming technology, courtesy of the transmitter dongle that plugs right into the player.

The W2 iPod adaptor uses Audioengine's proprietary 2.4GHz wireless technology which was also used in the hardwired version W1 which work with any device that has a 3.5mm audio socket. Songs are sent across the link in an uncompressed, PCM-encoded form that delivers CD-quality output - provided the source has that level of fidelity - according to Audioengine. The W2 can send watever your iPod can play including DRM tracks.

Shell out $169 to get this streaming technology direct from Audioengine.

Get your Mary Jane Goods

Posted by JCO | 12/11/2008 06:44:00 PM | 0 comments »

Let me take a break from posting about technology or a gadget for now. I would like to share this much anticipated website for Cannabis fans - the Mary Jane Goods website. The newly launched MaryJaneGoods.com is offering a selection of high-end, quality products that features the DNA genetic fingerprint of Cannabis Sativa. I'd like to quote from the site's press release - Mary Jane Goods is an idea conceptualized by the idea of fusing “high science” with “high art.” - I guess that is not rocket science. Simply put, it is Cannabis art at its best.

I know Cannabis fans will really like this website. Though you might not find that much product on sale yet since they are basically newly launched. They are now offering custom genetic portraits of C. Sativa; better know as Cannabis. You can also grab cool t-shirts like the one shown below for $45. Check out the other novelty items as well. All were created for the love of Cannabis.

There are other t-shirt and canvas designs that you can choose from the Mary Jane Goods website. You can even download a 4:20 North American clock widget for free. Now isn't that great for starters?

You can now download Grand Theft Auto: IV for PC legally. That is right, it is legal. Just download it from the European game download firm Metaboli if you are too lazy to go to a shop to buy your copy.

The recently released Grand Theft Auto: IV for PC was made available for download after Rockstar, the game’s developer, has signed an agreement with Metaboli. With this agreement, you can also download other games like Bully, Midnight Club: Los Angeles and other Rockstar games.

Depending on your internet connection speed, estimated download time is at 533 minutes for the 16.4GB file. For hardcore gamers, expect some problems with the PC version, which Rockstar promised a speedy fix, unlike the polished PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

Fake Nintendo DS and DS Lite

Posted by JCO | 12/07/2008 11:12:00 PM | , | 0 comments »

Hundreds of fake Nintendo DS and DS Lite machines are showing up in US ports which prompted Customs to seize these counterfeit consoles which were bought from different Asian-based websites.

Nintendo already confirmed that the confiscated gaming consoles are indeed counterfeit. The said gamings devices are being retailed at £40 which was really cheaper compared to the regular £100 price. The websites are advertising the Nintendo DS and DS Lite as genuine which is not true.

We know the quality of counterfeit products. Yes they are cheaper but you might be at risk when you buy one. As what Nintendo said, the power supplies of copycat machines are not tested which can pose potential injury to the user.

If you are planning to buy an Eee Box CPU you'd better get yourself one now. That is if you still want to have an Atom-based Asus Eee Box. Unofficial reports from Asia claims that Asus is about to ditch the PC's Intel Atom processor for a Celeron CPU.

According to the unofficial reports from industry insiders, Asus is going to put a 1.2GHz Celeron 220 in its Eee Box CPU instead of the Intel Atom processor. It will also upgrade the HDD from 80GB to 120GB. With these changes, the Box will have a 25% cut off its current price.

This unconfirmed move of Asus is being made to boost more sales of the Asus Eee Box.
