Here's the latest in streaming technology and iPod. Audioengine recently launched an iPod-friendly wireless music streaming kit dubbed as W2. Audioengine's W2 hooks up dockable iPods direct to its wireless music streaming technology, courtesy of the transmitter dongle that plugs right into the player.
The W2 iPod adaptor uses Audioengine's proprietary 2.4GHz wireless technology which was also used in the hardwired version W1 which work with any device that has a 3.5mm audio socket. Songs are sent across the link in an uncompressed, PCM-encoded form that delivers CD-quality output - provided the source has that level of fidelity - according to Audioengine. The W2 can send watever your iPod can play including DRM tracks.Shell out $169 to get this streaming technology direct from Audioengine.
