Filipino cyber athletes are now preparing for the biggest game, the World Cyber Games (WCG) competition, of their lives which will happen this November in Cologne, Germany. WCG is now on its 8^th edition and it is expected that approximately 800 gamers from 80 countries will participate in the competition. The Philippines frist joined in 2002 and still the quest to bring home a medal is on. For this years competition participants will compete in 14 events or game titles but the Philippines will join in four events only which are as follows:

WCG’s Counterstrike team "Horsemen of the Apocalypse":

Arvin Agbisit, Paolo Nancho, Jupiter Mars Gaboy, EJ Clores, and Gary Guevarras

Warcraft:

Frederick Pe

Command and Conquer:

John Raymond Tan

Guitar Hero:

Rafael Formoso

The competition is backed by South Korean tech firm Samsung and chip maker Intel.
